Our Story

Caravana was founded in 2009 in Valladolid, Yucatán — where climate, craft and daily life have long shaped one another.

From the beginning, the brand has drawn from its surroundings: the heat of the day, the pace of living, and the instinctive way clothing is worn in response to both. Life here moves between ease and occasion, intimacy and ceremony. That sensibility continues to guide everything we make.

Craft, rooted in origin

Our collections are developed through close relationships with artisans whose techniques are tied to place.

We work across regions including Mexico, India, Portugal and Madagascar in order to remain close to the origin of each material and method. Certain fibres, leathers, weaves and finishes are inseparable from particular geographies, shaped over time by environment, utility and tradition.

Hand-finished techniques such as deshilado, raw edge, handmade fringing and the Kukulkan knot are integral to the way our garments are made. They bring movement, texture and tactility through process rather than decoration, requiring time, precision and care.

Designed to be worn

Caravana designs for clothes that adjust to life as it is lived.

Wrapped, layered or tied, each piece is made to move easily across settings and hours — from late morning into evening, from coast to city, from travel to stillness. The intention is not to prescribe a way of dressing, but to allow one.

Material, landscape, wear

Materials are chosen for their breathability, tactility and the way they soften with time. Colours are drawn from landscape — sun-faded, earthy, irregular — and become more familiar through wear.

Caravana is shaped by origin, carried through craft, and made to be lived in.
